iCarnatic joined hands with Cleveland Aradhana, Maximum Media and Jaya TV in Organizing the Mid-West preliminaries of the Carnatic Music Idol USA Competition 2012. The event was held on August 18, 2012 at Sri Venkateswara Swami (Balaji) Temple in Aurora, IL.
The competition was for 2 categories based on age. Junior from age 5-14 and Senior from age 15-25.
Twenty Six participants from Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Indiana competed in the event and Finalists were selected for the finals held in the Bay Area.

iCarnatic conducted its 1st December Season series in Chicago titled "Margazhi in Chicago". This festival featured 7 concerts by 9 artists from North America and was broadcast free on the internet. These concerts were conducted as house concerts. The following artists performed for the event:

The concerts were well received and the event had over 300 audience overall.
